Smiths Falls Police say their investigation into vandalism at the Pride crosswalk and Town Hall gazebo is making positive progress.
Const. Sean Keogan says the investigation remains active, but police expect to have more to share soon.
“I’d like to say the investigation into the vandalism affecting the Pride crosswalk and Town Hall gazebo continues to make positive progress. While the investigation remains active, we anticipate being able to provide an update in the near future.”
The vandalism sparked concern across the community after hateful graffiti was discovered in several downtown areas.
Keogan says police understand the impact the incident has had on residents and appreciate the public’s patience while officers continue their work.
“We acknowledge the concerns this incident has generated throughout the community and appreciate the public’s patience as investigators continue their work. We’re hopeful that additional information will be available soon and positive results will be announced.”
