The second week of The Foursome is ready to tee off at the Station Theatre in Smiths Falls.
The Norm Foster comedy follows four former university friends who reunite after 15 years, then head out for a round of golf the next day. What follows is a funny and warm look at friendship, memory and how life changes after school.
Director Liz Steinberg says the play has a unique structure, with the story moving through the golf course instead of traditional scenes.
The four characters all arrive at the reunion with different lives behind them. One has never married, one is on a second marriage, one works in television, and one is a family man who has never played golf.
Steinberg says the story gives audiences plenty to laugh about, while also touching on the way old friendships can shift over time.
The production is also a strong example of local theatre at work. Steinberg says the cast and crew have put in the time to make the show feel polished and welcoming.
She says volunteers also played a major role in bringing the golf course set to life.
The first week already wowed audiences, and second week of The Foursome begins tonight, running June 25, 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m., with a final Sunday matinee June 28 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are available at smithfallstheatre.com, by calling 613-283-2244, or at Special Greetings on Russell Street East.
