The Perth Junior Royals are getting ready for another shot on the provincial stage, and the community is being asked to help them get there.
The Perth and District Little League Junior Royals are heading back to the provincial championship.
Coach and manager Brad King says the team will face some of the best competition in Ontario.
King says the group has been building toward this moment for several years.
He says last year’s tournament gave the players a major boost. The Royals won their opening game and reached the quarterfinals before falling to a strong Ottawa team that went on to the final.
King says the focus this season is not only on wins and losses, but on improving every day before the trip.
The team is also raising money to help cover travel costs for families. Fundraisers include barbecue donations during home doubleheaders and a $20 raffle.
The grand prize package includes a Yeti cooler, and two gift cards valued at $200. The draw is Sunday, July 19.
King says support makes a real difference.
