Jury recommendation no. 54 in the inquest into the deaths of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk, and Natalie Warmerdam calls for the province to improve court assistance for IPV survivors, through a an IPV-focused model for criminal courts.
Lanark County Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee looks at each recommendation for us. She says each step has to be taken carefully.
The recommendation also says the province has to explore the independent legal advice program for survivors of sexual violence as a potential model for IPV survivors too. Lee says this can answer so many questions for victims.
