We continue our look at each of the 86 recommendations made by the jury from the inquest into ending Intimate Partner Violence in Ontario.
We’re up to number 73, which says the Chief Firearms Officer must amend Possession and License application and renewal forms to require identification as a surety.
Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee who testified at the inquiry says it’s all about making sure all the i’s are dotted and t’s crossed.
She adds that verifying ID in person, or having it done so by someone authorized to do so makes sense.
Lee says once again, a recommendation is speaking to overall and improved communications between stakeholders.
By that, she means safer for victims, potential victims and the community in general.
