On Monday, the Hospice Hub launched their brand-new fundraiser, Waves for Hospice at the Perth indoor pool. It runs until the end of March. Fundraising & Stewardship Assistant, Lesley Renwick explains how Waves works
Renwick stresses one of the benefits of this type of fundraising is that participants set their own pace and goals.
The Hospice Hub is a community-led, compassionate care organization that supports people and families facing end-of-life experiences and grief. It focuses on helping individuals with serious, life-limiting illnesses, their caregivers, and anyone grieving a death. Registration can be done online at thehospicehub.ca or by calling 613-627-0974 extension 1 and asking for Lesley. Collecting pledges is as easy and flexible as participating in the Waves, according to Renwick.
The goal is to raise $20K for the Hospice Hub and there’s no better way to do it in the middle of a cold winter than in a tropically warm indoor setting. Perth Councillor Isabel McRae has pledged to swim 53 miles over the course of the 7 week Waves for this cause.
