Local MP Michael Barrett says he and his party remain committed to keeping their promises, even after last week’s byelections secured a majority for the Mark Carney Liberal Government. Earlier floor crossings, added to the three wins gave the Liberals the power.
He said the floor crossings have not changed his mindset or his priorities.
Barrett said he remains happy to work with other parties continuing as a conservative.
One of the Liberals’ first moves as a majority was to suspend the gas excise tax until Sept. 7, effective April 20.
The impact of the by-election results is expected to continue to unfold in the weeks ahead.
