A Perth resident is facing child exploitation charges following an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Unit.
Police say officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Perth on May 13th with assistance from the Lanark County OPP and the OPP Digital Forensics Unit. Several electronic devices were seized.
As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Brendan Kelly of Perth has been charged with two counts of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material and one count of making child sexual abuse and exploitation material available.
Kelly was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court in Perth on June 15th.
The OPP says it will continue pursuing individuals who use technology to exploit children and is reminding parents to educate children about internet safety through resources including Cybertip and Protect Children.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
