Stephanie Drummond says her second run for mayor of Perth is about focus, transparency and helping the town move forward after the October 2026 municipal election.
Drummond, who also ran in the last municipal race, says that first campaign gave her the confidence to try again. This time, she says she is better prepared and wants to make an immediate impact from the mayor’s chair.
She says Perth needs to come out of the next election with a clearer plan for growth, infrastructure, recreation and public spending.
Drummond says she has lived in Perth her entire life. She was born at the Perth hospital, went to school locally, raised her family in the area and says Perth has always been her address. She also describes herself as a fifth- or sixth-generation resident of the area.
She says that lifelong connection gives her a clear understanding of what residents value, and what they are frustrated by.
Drummond says she wants more open decision-making at town hall and stronger communication with neighbouring municipalities. She says Perth also needs to support long-term projects, including recreation, safer streets and future health-care needs.
Drummond says she believes she is ready to lead in part because of her experience with Toastmasters, including executive roles, serving as president and working at the area and district council levels.
She says she also understands the frustration many residents feel.
Drummond says that is why she believes she is the right person to lead Perth through its next term.
