The Delta Fair is preparing to welcome families back for four days of rides, animals, live music and classic agricultural entertainment from July 23 to 26.
Fair board member Peggy Tye-Bernicky said joining the organizing committee with her husband has been a special experience. Tye-Bernicky grew up in Delta and has attended the fair since childhood.
This year’s fair will feature World’s Finest Shows, with two new midway rides expected to make their Delta debut. The midway will operate throughout the weekend, alongside agricultural displays, competitions, food and entertainment.
Tye-Bernicky said some of her favourite childhood moments were spent exploring the grounds and enjoying the attractions that have made the fair a summer tradition for generations.
The grandstand schedule includes a truck pull Thursday, a lawnmower pull Saturday and an antique tractor pull Sunday. Modified trucks and tractors from Quebec are also expected to compete.
Music fans can enjoy tribute acts celebrating Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Big Sea and Guns N’ Roses.
Other attractions include the fair ambassador pageant, children’s races, a baby show, a goat show, horse events, magic, foam activities and a Saturday chicken barbecue.
Admission is free for children under five. Daily admission is $2 for children aged five to 12 and $10 for visitors aged 13 and older. Advance ride passes are also available.
Tye-Bernicky said the fair remains a place where neighbours reconnect, families make memories and visitors experience the welcoming spirit of Delta.
