After a one year hiatus, the ever-popular Perth Garlic Festival is back on August 8th and 9th at the Perth Fairgrounds. It’s put on by the Lions Club of Perth. Organizer Anne Bell tells us what it’s a about.
The Lions have raised almost $500K to date from proceeds of the festival to help support worthwhile community initiatives. The Festival has become a major tourism draw for Perth since it began in 1997. In addition to over 60 garlic and garlic-related vendors, Bell tells us there’s plenty of other activities and displays to enjoy.
The Festival runs from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday. Admission is $5 and children under 12 get in for free. Pets are not allowed on the Perth Fairgrounds.
