Perth residents wondering what to bring to myFM’s All Hands on Deck Food Drive have a fresh shopping list from the Good Food Bank.
The annual campaign returns Thursday, Aug. 20, with donations being collected from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Barnabe’s Independent Grocer and Metro Perth.
Good Food Bank co-lead Coral McMahon says the organization tracks which foods are running short so donated items can be directed where they will have the greatest impact.
With families preparing for September, children’s lunch snacks are especially useful. Several everyday pantry staples are also needed.
Every donated item also saves the organization money that would otherwise have to come from its operating budget.
For residents who are unsure what to buy, cash donations provide another option.
Shoppers can donate during Thursday’s drive at either participating Perth grocery store.
Organizers say large donations are appreciated, but smaller contributions add up quickly when the community works together.
