Two Ottawa men are now wanted for first-degree murder as the investigation into a homicide at Last Duel Park in Perth continues.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers from the Lanark County Detachment responded to Last Duel Park at about 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, after receiving a report that a person had been seriously injured.
Thirty-four-year-old Christo Allison Richards of Ottawa was found with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a trauma centre but later died.
Two people have previously been charged in connection with the investigation.
Police say the arrest warrants for 34-year-old Joseph Madore and 28-year-old Brayton Kennedy, both of Ottawa, have now been updated. Both men are wanted on charges of first-degree murder, contrary to Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.
Investigators believe Madore may be in British Columbia and could be travelling through or camping in remote backcountry areas.
Police believe Kennedy may be in New Brunswick.
The OPP is warning the public not to approach either man if they are spotted. Anyone who sees either suspect is asked to call 911 immediately.
The homicide investigation is being conducted by the Lanark County OPP under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
Investigators are working with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. OPP Forensic Identification Services are also assisting.
Police continue to appeal for information from anyone who may have information about the homicide or the whereabouts of the two wanted men.
