Mississippi Mills is preparing for hundreds of new homes as Council approves subdivision agreements for two developments.
At its September 15 meeting, Council approved Phase 1 agreements for the Hannan Hills and Brown Lands subdivisions.
Hannan Hills will include 110 new units, while Brown Lands will bring another 235 units.
Site preparation is already underway for Hannan Hills, with work on Brown Lands expected to begin before the end of the year.
Council also received a background report on a proposed zoning change for 155 Ryan Duncan Sideroad.
The property would be rezoned from rural commercial to agricultural. Residents can submit comments to the Planning Department until September 29, with the proposed by-law expected to come before Council for approval October 6.
Council supported a Lanark Highlands resolution asking the province for financial support and coordinated planning to address tick-borne diseases.
The municipality also announced upcoming community events, including Lanark Transportation’s 25th anniversary celebration September 24 and the Lanark County Tree Seedling Giveaway September 19.
Several other items, including 2027 fees and charges and additional subdivision agreements, will return to Council for future approval.
