Cornerstone Landing says there was no summer break from helping young people experiencing housing insecurity across Lanark County.
The organization continued its Housing First Youth program throughout the season, helping young people find and maintain stable housing while connecting them with food, employment, education and wellness supports.
Food security remains a major part of that work.
Cornerstone Landing says more than 35 young people currently receive fresh produce and staple foods every month through its Good Food Box program.
The organization says reliable access to healthy food can mean fewer skipped meals and more energy for school, work and building a stable life.
Residents can support the program by donating $25 to provide a youth with a fresh produce box. Community members can also order their own box for $20.
The next order deadline is Sept. 21, with pickup Sept. 24 at Zion United Church in Carleton Place.
Cornerstone Landing also continues collecting returnable empties in Carleton Place and near Smiths Falls, with proceeds supporting young people using its programs.
