Two people have been charged with second-degree murder following a vehicle fire in Mississippi Mills that left a 37-year-old resident dead.
Lanark County OPP and the Mississippi Mills Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in a wooded area off Ramsay Concession 12 shortly before 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 11.
Police say the victim was found deceased inside the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Lindsay Dolan and 33-year-old Dylan Zoobkoff, both of Arnprior, were arrested in Regina, Saskatchewan, on Wednesday.
The arrests involved assistance from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Winnipeg Police Service and Regina Police Service Major Crime Unit and Tactical Support Team.
Both Dolan and Zoobkoff are charged with second-degree murder and indignity to a dead body.
The accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Friday.
The investigation is being led by the Lanark County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
The Office of the Chief Coroner, Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and OPP Forensic Identification Services are also involved.
