Incumbent Gary Waterfield is seeking to be reelected as a Perth councillor to continue serving fellow citizens. He is serving, or has served in a variety of roles such as chair of Developmental Services, chair of the Committee of Adjustment, chair of the RVCA, board member of the Perth & District Union Library, Lanark County Traffic Advisory Working Group & Lanark County Municipal Advisory Working Group Natural Heritage System Strategy. He stands on his record. He says public and volunteer service is in his blood.
His focus has and continues to be economic development, strong fiscal management, multi-use housing – reflecting the diversity of citizen’s financial ability & lifestyles, active transportation, climate change, green space, a vibrant downtown are the building blocks of Waterfield’s vision for Perth.
During his time on council he has endeavoured to actively listen to all citizens, seek to understand their concerns/opinions and ultimately advocate/ vote on what he thinks is in the best public interest He has been careful to try to keep discussions issue based.
Gary has spent his whole life on various boards, committees and most recently council to grow community. In his view, all of this experience and his vision provide ample reasons to mark his name on this year’s ballot.
