wants more businesses to help shape its economic future
The Town of Perth is asking more local businesses to speak up about what is working, what is not and what they need to grow.
More than 30 businesses have already taken part in the town’s Business Retention & Expansion initiative, known as BR+E.
The program involves confidential, one-on-one conversations with business owners and operators from across Perth.
The goal is to identify challenges, opportunities and common priorities that can help guide future economic development planning, partnerships and business supports.
Director of Community Services Cathy McNally says the town wants to hear directly from the people running businesses every day rather than make assumptions about what they need.
Businesses of all sizes and across all sectors are encouraged to participate, whether they have been operating in Perth for years or have only recently opened.
The BR+E initiative will continue through March 2027.
Once the interviews are complete, the town will review the feedback and identify common themes to help shape future economic development actions.
Businesses interested in taking part can contact BR+E Coordinator Barbara King at bking@perth.ca or 613-267-3311 ext. 2226.
