It’s a day when local radio becomes a lifeline for local healthcare, and it’s underway!
The annual Radiothon for Local Healthcare brings 88.1 myFM in Perth and 92.3 WOW FM in Smiths Falls together for 10 hours of fundraising, storytelling and community spirit.
This year’s broadcast supports three hospital foundations serving Perth, Smiths Falls, Carleton Place and Almonte.
Station Manager Bob Perreault says the event is a reminder of what communities can accomplish when they work together.
The Radiothon has an impressive history.
In 2023, the event raised $122,475. Another $76,483 followed in 2024, with $77,005 collected last year.
But beyond those numbers are the patients, families and healthcare workers whose lives are touched by community generosity.
Production Manager Adam Weekes says the broadcast will give listeners an opportunity to hear some of those stories.
Behind the scenes, local businesses and volunteers are helping make the day possible.
Account Executive Shannon McLellan says their involvement shows just how deeply the community cares.
Money raised will help the three foundations support equipment and patient care close to home.
The Radiothon runs from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., TODAY – THURSDAY OCT. 15
Listeners can support the cause by calling 1-833-881-GIVE (4483).
And whether the donation is big or small, every contribution is another reason to celebrate what’s good about our communities.
Thank you to our sponsors!
