There’s still time to get moving for a good cause, as Home Hospice North Lanark continues its annual Hike for Hospice fundraiser throughout October.
The event encourages residents to stay active while raising money to support people facing life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Home Hospice North Lanark chair Jan Watson told LanarkLeedsToday’s Lynda D’Aoust the fundraiser is essential to keeping the organization running.
The organization provides visiting volunteers and support services wherever clients call home, including private residences, hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Watson says participation is easy, and nobody needs to tackle a mountain.
Participants can register individually or as teams, collect donations and enjoy their favourite activities.
There’s also another way to help, without breaking a sweat.
The boots are also appearing in Carleton Place.
Watson says community support makes all the difference.
Hike for Hospice continues through October 31.
