Paramedics Week may have been last week, but they’re worth celebrating each and every day.
Municipalities across the region expressed thanks throughout the week for the work the first responders do, attending calls for service and often dealing with people going through the worst moment of their lives.
Last year, Lanark County paramedics responded to more than 28,000 calls.
In an effort to better accessibility, Lanark County Paramedics recently learned American Sign Language for first responders. They also implemented a First Response Communication Book designed to help Paramedics ask and understand questions when communication is difficult.
