A record $61,000 was raised from the 10th annual AGH Run/Walk in support of women’s health and the birthing center at the Almonte General Hospital this past Saturday.
More than 300 walkers, runners, and volunteers took part in what was on all accounts a very fun day.
$23,000 of that total came from a single fundraiser in Darrell Graham, who carried the baton across the finish line as a thank you for his efforts. He also received the Margaret Duncan Memorial Award.
More than $300,000 has been raised for the hospital in the 10 years of the run/walk. This year’s funding will go towards a Panda Warmer in the birthing unit.
