The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) have tapped Derick Viau as its new Director of Hockey Operations.
Viau has a long-history working in the league. He spent his first 10 years working with the Alexandria Glens before a three year stop in Vancouver Island.
He then rejoined the Glens in 2018 and was named general manager a year later, a position he held until last season when he joined the Casselman Vikings as assistant director of hockey operations and director of public relations.
Viau expressed his excitement in a statement.
“I am humbled and honoured by being named the next Director of Hockey Operations of the EOJHL. This is the largest league in the area with a rich history with some franchises dating back to the 1960s. I’ve had the pleasure of working in Junior B over the past 18 years. The experience I’ve accumulated over this time will serve me well as the Director of Hockey Operations.”
