The Smiths Falls Town Square is coming along.
Mayor Shawn Pankow says they’re just waiting for the final piece of the puzzle.
The town’s secured more than $1 million in grants for the project, which will sit between the library and town hall and feature a butterfly garden, improved walkways and more.
Earlier this year, local business owners rallied together to preserve the bandstand from uncertainty, after it was put on pause last summer.
It’s a continued effort from the previous and current council to beautify the core of the town.
Pankow says they’re moving down the checklist and are near the end.
A grand opening will be announced by the town in the coming weeks.
