We continue our look at each recommendation made by the Culleton, Kuzyk & Warmerdam inquest into ending intimate partner violence (or IPV) in Ontario.
Today we look at number 38 which states the province must ensure that IPV-related public education campaigns address IPV perpetration and should include men’s voices, represent men’s experiences, and prompt men to seek help to address their own abusive behaviours.
Lanark County Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee says reworking current programs makes sense.
Lee says for many perpetrators it might be new to approach family and to hold themselves responsible for their actions.
