Lanark County Paramedic Acting Commander Janice Steele says the county’s paramedicine program is thriving. It sees paramedics offer service outside of their normal duties, largely as part of the province’s aging in place initiative.
She told our Lynda D’Aoust, primarily they serve the elderly. Some of whom may be on long term care wait lists. But there others they help too.
They do so as an extension of primary care.
