Smiths Falls Fire Chief Rick Chesebrough addresses council February 24th, 2025
Friday’s fire at the Smiths Falls Public Works garage on Air Care Drive could’ve been a lot worse.
That’s the messaging from Fire Chief Rick Chesebrough, who said the response time from the call to being on scene was five minutes.
CAO Malcom Morris went over the damages.
Chesebrough said it could’ve been a lot worse if not for the attentive staff on hand.
Morris says they’re working on acquiring another snow removal vehicle, and workarounds are expected to be in place for the next several months before the building becomes occupiable.
