The Town of Smiths Falls is making Halloween more inclusive this year by supporting the Treat Accessibly initiative. The program encourages residents to make trick-or-treating fun and safe for children of all abilities.
Residents can pick up free Treat Accessibly lawn signs at the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The signs let families know that homes are offering barrier-free trick-or-treating options.
The Town’s Accessibility Advisory Committee also joined the Downtown Skelebration event hosted by Downtown Smiths Falls on Saturday, handing out candy.
The Town says the initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to inclusion and community spirit in Smiths Falls.
