Robbie Thomson had been missing since 2023.
Three individuals have been charged with first degree murder in the missing persons case of Robbie Thomson.
Christopher Fenton, 48, and Erin Mackie, 40, both of Montague Township, and Joshua Belfiori, 34, of Kingston were arrested Wednesday.
All three remain in custody and are scheduled to appear for bail hearings in Perth on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
The OPP’s Bill Dickson told lanarkleedstoday.ca he couldn’t dive deep into when police began to suspect multiple people were involved.
Dickson did credit the public for submitting tips which they are still accepting, but wouldn’t confirm if any public tips aided their investigation. He noted that once the court proceedings begin that information will become public.
Police say a heavy police presence will continue at a home on Kelly Jordan Road, northeast of Smiths Falls, as part of the investigation.
Officials add there is no risk to public safety.
Dickson told us they worked closely with the Smiths Falls Police Service, who originally led the investigation before handing it over to the OPP, since the early stages.
Kingston Police also provided aid as they executed one of the arrests Wednesday.
Thomson’s body remains missing.
