The Westport Food Bank says this weekend’s stop on the RCL Automotive Build a Mountain of Food campaign comes at a critical time, with organizers hoping for both food and financial donations to support families heading into the holidays.
Volunteer Jim Kenny says the food bank’s wish list is wide open, but he encourages residents to think beyond the basics.
Kenny adds that monetary donations are just as important.
Cash donation also helps fund the annual Christmas hamper program, which includes both food and small non-food gifts such as mitts or scarves.
He says Westport’s generosity is always strong, and volunteers are looking forward to greeting residents this Saturday from noon until 4 in the parking of Kudrinko’s as the RCL Automotive Build a Mountain campaign rolls into town.
