A mediated settlement has been reached in the Ontario Land Tribunal case examining Caivan’s proposed subdivision at the Perth Golf Course.
The town says the agreement follows months of OLT-led mediation involving Perth, Lanark County, Caivan, lawyers and expert witnesses. Sessions were held between February and October and focused on clarifying issues and narrowing disagreements.
The next stage in the process includes drafting and signing Minutes of Settlement, which will be posted publicly once approved. A public meeting is expected as early as January to outline the details for residents. Participants in the Tribunal process will also have an opportunity to update or withdraw their earlier submissions.
The OLT will then schedule a hearing to review the settlement and render its final decision. Perth officials say they remain committed to transparency but are limited in what they can share until the Tribunal process concludes.
