Lanark County OPP have laid multiple charges following an intimate partner violence investigation in the Town of Perth.
Police say officers were called to a residence just after 7:30 Sunday morning, January 4. Before officers arrived, a male suspect fled the scene on foot.
With the help of an OPP Canine unit and Emergency Response Team members, police located and arrested the suspect a short time later.
A 34-year-old Perth man is charged with assault causing bodily harm, two counts of uttering threats, mischief, assault, failing to comply with a probation order, and cruelty to animals.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later date. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
