Carleton Place started off 2026 with their traditional New Year’s Day Levee at the arena on January 1st with free public skating, hot-dogs, popcorn and hot chocolate. It’s an annual favourite for residents of all ages and they came in droves. myFM took the opportunity to ask Town Councillors, who play host to the popular event, what their wishes were for the new year.
Councillor Linda Seccaspina was eager to get the year started.
Mayor Toby Randell urged everyone to adopt and take advantage of the positives of his Town’s growth.
Councillor Sarah Cavanagh was very positive in her wishes for an inclusive community.
Carleton Place’s Arena on Neelin Street is a very active community hub and council will be considering plans this year for a major expansion of the facility to meet the needs of their growing population.
