Perth Councillor Anne McRae has shared early totals from this year’s Toonies for the Table fundraiser, showing strong community support once again.
McRae says donations came in many forms, with buckets placed at local businesses bringing in $7,558.52. When combined with other gifts from businesses, organizations, and individual donors, the fundraiser reached a preliminary grand total of $15,058.52.
The annual campaign supports The Table Community Food Centre, which provides food access and community programs in Perth and surrounding areas.
Executive Director Rob Rainer thanked residents for their generosity and credited McRae for leading the campaign each year.
The funds will help the organization meet ongoing demand and support neighbours facing food insecurity.
McRae noted the results show what can happen when a community works together to help those in need.
