The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Carleton Place resident in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
Police say officers began investigating allegations on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026. As a result, a 25-year-old man from Carleton Place was arrested and charged with sexual assault and assault.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The accused’s name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
