Lanark County OPP have laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation in the Perth area.
Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police began investigating a report on Friday, February 6, 2026, involving an incident that police say happened in January.
Police say a 37-year-old man from Perth now faces three charges: criminal harassment, break and enter, and forcible confinement.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later date.
Police say the accused is not being named in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The OPP says incidents of intimate partner violence often go unreported and can affect people of all ages and backgrounds.
Police encourage anyone experiencing abuse or feeling unsafe to reach out for help and support.
