Perth is getting an early taste of summer as the Stewart Park Festival planning committee gets ready to launch its 35th anniversary season with music, dancing and a major lineup reveal in downtown Perth.
The Kickoff to Summer event runs this weekend at the Crystal Palace, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and music running from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Festival chair Sean Vernier says the committee wanted to mark the milestone in a big way.
The night will feature a great band from Kingston.
Vernier says the band has played for the festival before and knows how to get a crowd moving.
Tickets are $35 in honour of the 35th anniversary and are available through Tickets Please. Vernier says proceeds support the Stewart Park Festival.
The licensed event will include service from Perth Brewery and Top Shelf. Vernier says the evening also brings one major bonus for festival fans.
The event goes rain or shine.
