An Arnprior man is facing charges after a vehicle fire in Mississippi Mills.
The Ontario Provincial Police says officers with the Lanark County detachment responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on County Road 29 just after 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24.
Police attended the scene alongside Mississippi Mills Fire Department and located the burning vehicle.
According to police, after speaking with witnesses, officers learned the driver had fled the vehicle and ran into a nearby field. Officers later located a man near the scene and arrested him.
As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Myles Moulton of Arnprior has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand and fail to remain.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Aug. 10.
Police say his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days under an administrative driver’s licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
