The Smiths Falls Canada Day fireworks fiasco is nearing its end.
Residents were irate the fireworks still went off at Lower Reach Park after the town canceled the show due to severe weather conditions.
Treasurer Paul Dowber provided an update.
The town said and investigation showed the fireworks went off “unexpectedly,” in a media release one week later, but didn’t offer details about what exactly happened.
The makeup date is Labour Day weekend, September 6th at Lower Reach Park at no additional cost to the town.
