The Mike Fair Classic Car Show is bringing vehicles, families and community support together in Perth while raising money for Lanark County Interval House and Community Support and Mel’s Farm All Animal Rescue.
The event runs Sunday, Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mike Fair Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, located at 65 Dufferin Street.
Admission is free for spectators. Owners can enter a vehicle or motorcycle for $10, with proceeds supporting the two local charities.
Vehicle Inventory Manager Carrie Woods says the dealership wants the event to be welcoming and accessible to the entire community.
The show is open to all makes and models, including classic cars, custom vehicles and motorcycles. Organizers say they have already received a strong response from vehicle owners.
Senior Sales Consultant Tom Haskins says the event will also serve as a community celebration for the dealership, which opened its Perth location nearly one year ago.
Along with the vehicle displays, the day will feature a charity barbecue, prizes, face painting, axe throwing and activities for children.
The barbecue will operate on a donate-what-you-can basis, with proceeds also going to Lanark County Interval House and Mel’s Farm.
Interval House provides support and services for women and children affected by violence. Mel’s Farm helps rescue, care for and rehome animals in need.
Woods says the choice of charities reflects the dealership’s desire to become an active and lasting part of the region.
Families are encouraged to attend whether or not they are able to donate.
Haskins says the show should appeal to collectors, anyone who loves vehicles, and younger enthusiasts.
Organizers hope the event becomes a new Perth tradition built around cars, family fun and giving back.
