Beckwith Township residents can now manage outdoor burn permits directly from their phones.
The BurnPermits app allows users to apply for a new permit or renew an existing one in just a few steps. Residents can also register or activate permits and view their active burns at any time.
Before starting a fire, users can check the township’s current burn risk level to see whether burning is allowed and what conditions are in place.
The app also sends alerts about fire restrictions, changing conditions and other important outdoor burning information.
Township officials say the goal is to make the permit process more convenient while helping residents burn safely and responsibly.
The BurnPermits app is available through both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Residents are still responsible for following all local burning rules and restrictions, even when they have an active permit.
The township recommends checking the app for updated conditions before every outdoor fire.
