A volunteer-run gallery in downtown Carleton Place is helping regional artists share their work, meet the public and strengthen the creative community.
The Art Hub, at 127 Bridge Street, is a project of Arts Carleton Place. It operates as a cooperative gallery, with participating artists helping manage the space and taking turns welcoming visitors.

There are no paid staff members. Artists who display their work volunteer for gallery shifts, giving visitors opportunities to meet the people behind the pieces.
The gallery draws creators from across the Ottawa Valley.
Inside, visitors will find paintings, photography, pottery, jewellery, sculpture and mixed-media work. Much of the art is available for purchase, allowing customers to directly support regional creators.
Arts Carleton Place has about 180 members, with roughly 40 artists participating in the gallery at a time. Artists can apply for display space and help operate the cooperative.
The displays are changed every six or seven weeks, giving returning visitors something different to discover throughout the year.
Marston says the rotation brings new artists and new work into the downtown space.
Artists interested in becoming involved can visit artscarletonplace.com to learn about membership and gallery submissions. Members receive a newsletter and become eligible to apply for space.
The Art Hub gives shoppers a chance to find an original piece made close to home while supporting people who contribute to the region’s cultural life.
For participating artists, it offers visibility, sales opportunities and a welcoming place to celebrate creativity together.
