The Lanark County Plowing Match is returning next month for a full day of agriculture, entertainment and community fun.
This year’s event will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at the MacPherson family farm at 537 Armstrong Road in the Smiths Falls area.
Activities begin at 11 a.m., with competitive plowing giving visitors a close look at the skill and precision involved in preparing the land.
The event will also feature a vendor market, canteen lunch and silent auction. Live music will be provided by Dave Brown and Friends, with more attractions planned throughout the day.
Organizers say the annual match is an opportunity for people of all ages to connect with Lanark County’s farming community while enjoying a traditional rural gathering.
Visitors can explore the grounds, watch the competition and support local vendors and community groups.
The event is open to the public, with residents encouraged to come out and enjoy a day on the farm.
