Jennifer Miller is making the case that experience and the town’s continued infrastructure work and vision should earn her another term on Smiths Falls council.
She says the current council has made progress during her first term, particularly on infrastructure and public spaces.
Miller pointed to projects including the town square and gazebo, new parks, road paving, a new water tower, a pedestrian bridge and renovations to the library.
She says the work is far from finished, with aging roads, sewers and other municipal infrastructure still requiring investment.
Miller argues that experience can help councillors understand how to move priorities forward while still making room for new ideas, and making a change for the sake of change is rarely a good idea.
Miller said her decision to run again also comes from her connection to Smiths Falls and its residents. She has worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters for about 20 years and says she believes in the value of investing in the community.
The municipal election will be held October 26th.
