The supervised beach season has officially wrapped up in Carleton Place.
Sunday, Aug. 23 was the final day lifeguards were on duty at Riverside Park and Centennial Park for the 2026 season.
While the beaches are no longer supervised, some warm-weather amenities will stick around a little longer.
Washrooms at Riverside Park Beach will remain open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Sept. 30.
The town’s four public splash pads will also stay open until Sept. 30, weather permitting.
They are located at Riverside Park, the Carambeck Community Centre, Dunlop Park and Miller’s Crossing.
All four splash pads are open seven days a week and can be activated as early as 9 a.m. They automatically shut off at 8:30 each night.
That gives families a few more weeks to squeeze in some outdoor water fun even though the supervised swimming season has ended.
Residents who notice damage or other issues at a splash pad can contact the town’s Recreation and Culture Department at 613-257-1690.
The seasonal change is another sign summer is starting to wind down in Carleton Place.
