Downtown Smiths Falls is getting ready to turn up the volume with the return of its Downtown Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Hosted by the Downtown Smiths Falls Business Association, the event begins at 1 p.m. with free live performances along Russell Street East.
The afternoon lineup includes Landon Bedor, DaNielle Hewitt, Spencer Scharf and Ambre McLean, giving visitors plenty of reasons to spend the day shopping, eating and enjoying music downtown.
The party continues on Main Street West, where doors open at 4 p.m. for a ticketed 19-plus evening show.
Local acts One Eyed Dawgs and Vicki Brittle will warm up the crowd before Canadian rock favourites The Trews take the stage as headliners.
The Trews have scored 20 Top 10 rock radio singles, including three number-one hits, and have toured with major acts including the Rolling Stones, KISS, Aerosmith and Bruce Springsteen.
Tickets are on sale now at select Smiths Falls locations and downtownsf.ca.
Organizers are encouraging fans to buy early because capacity at the Main Street West stage is limited.
