A 35-year-old Smiths Falls man has been charged with second-degree murder following a homicide investigation in Spencerville.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers from the Grenville County Detachment responded to a residence on Crowder Road on Saturday, Aug. 29, where one person was found deceased.
The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Chelsea Swinwood of Spencerville.
Police say Justin Donovan-Biscope of Smiths Falls was arrested Thursday, Sept. 3, in connection with the investigation.
He has been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to a body under the Criminal Code.
Donovan-Biscope remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on Friday, Sept. 4.
The investigation is being conducted by the Grenville County OPP under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
Police are also working with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The OPP Emergency Response Team and Forensic Identification Services are assisting with the investigation.

The charges have not been proven in court.
