A Lanark Highlands Township resident is facing impaired driving charges after an early-morning RIDE check in Balderson.
Lanark County OPP say officers were conducting the check on County Road 511 in Drummond-North Elmsley Township just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
Police stopped a vehicle and later arrested the driver.
Natasha Villeneuve, 48, was taken to the OPP detachment in Perth for testing.
She has been charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
Villeneuve also faces a charge of driving with cannabis readily available.
She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Nov. 2.
Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The charges have not been proven in court.
