A 37-year-old Mississippi Mills man has been identified as the victim of a homicide after his body was found inside a burning vehicle last week.
Lanark County OPP say Colin Campbell was found deceased in the vehicle on Friday, Sept. 11, shortly before 5:15 p.m.
Police and the Mississippi Mills Fire Department responded to the vehicle fire in a wooded area off Ramsay Concession 12 in Mississippi Mills.
The investigation has now been deemed a homicide.
Police say preliminary information suggests the incident was isolated, with no signs of a broader threat to the public.
The Lanark County OPP Crime Unit is investigating under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, along with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation.
