Smiths Falls residents are being reminded how to cast their ballots in this year’s municipal election.
Voting opens at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, and continues until 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26. Voters can cast their ballots online or by telephone. There will be no paper ballots.
Eligible voters will receive a sealed Voter Information Letter in the mail. The letter contains a unique PIN that is required to vote.
To vote online, voters will go to the election website, enter their PIN and birthdate, and then mark their ballots electronically.
Those voting by telephone can call the toll-free voting number, enter their PIN and follow the touch-tone instructions.
Anyone who has not received their Voter Information Letter by Oct. 13 is asked to visit the help centre at Town Hall with proper identification.
A help centre will also be available for voters who need assistance or do not have access to the internet or a telephone.
The Town can also assist with changes to the voters’ list, including adding or correcting information, through the close of voting on Oct. 26.
The municipal election takes place Monday, Oct. 26.
